Step into the treasure trove of Tin Can Bay Art during this year’s Studio Trails

Gympie Region Studio Trails kicks off on 3 September! Did you catch the write-up on our participating amazing local artists in last month’s issue? Read it on our website if not – but here is a brief recap to remind you of what is on offer with this popular initiative:

As you well know, our region is bursting with talented artists, artisans, and creatives, and the annual Studio Trails event gives us mere mortals the opportunity to peek inside where the magic happens.

Running from 3 to 18 September, this year offers the opportunity to plan your own bespoke itinerary in your own time and visit the private studios, ateliers, and creative spaces of our local makers and gain an insight into their creative practices and techniques – and maybe even take home a unique artwork to take pride of place in your home.

There are 35 participants in this year’s event, located all over the entire Gympie region so make sure you plan your visits well. Check out www.gympie.qld.gov.au/studio-trails for the full list and to check opening dates and times as they vary between studios.

Our local participants are:

Rainbow Beach Community Hall – 32 Rainbow Beach Road, Rainbow Beach.
A collective of local artists will be exhibiting a range of works on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September.

Rainbow Beach Pizza – Shop 1/48 Rainbow Beach Road, Rainbow Beach.
An exhibition of artwork by local artist Lynette Dimmock of Net Rae Art, plus a feature mural on the external wall. Check the website for dates.

Jill McDonald’s beautiful gallery is a colourful oasis of hand-painted silk scarves, fashion, decorative art, and hand-crafted home décor. Open all three weekends of Studio Trails.
