QCWA Branch President, Wendy addressing attendees at the recent Branch AGM

Our Branch Annual General Meeting was held in our Meeting Room at 18 Whiting Street, Tin Can Bay on 18 July.

The AGM was well attended by members and we welcomed our visitors, Pam Bauer (Returning Officer), Janice Jamieson (President, QCWA Gympie – South Burnett Division), Mr and Mrs Peter Murphy (Auditor), Cr Jess Milne (Guest Speaker, GRC), Mr Hilary Smerdon, (Deputy Mayor, Gympie Regional Council) and Joan Barnier (Division, International Officer). Also present were representatives from other Branches within our Division of Gympie-South Burnett.

Pam Bauer announced the members of the Executive Committee for 2023–2024 and our Division President, Janice Jamieson, graciously pinned on them their Badge of Office.

We are proud to present our new Executive:

PRESIDENT: Wendy Ritchie

VICE PRESIDENT: Dawn Austin, Judy McAllister, Judith Sullivan

TREASURER: Jill Facer

SECRETARY: Mollie Kratzmann

Our Guest Speaker, Councillor Jess Milne, entertained us with a lively speech during which she had us all performing activities where she had us clapping, laughing, and moving. Jess also mentioned to keep in mind when recycling any item, it has to be at least as big as your palm otherwise the item will not get processed.

Words from our President, Wendy: ‘I personally thank all members for their continuing support, respect, and the fun we have while we are all working hard.

‘I value all members’ input; together we will achieve our goals within all areas of the QCWA.’

To all the ladies who helped to set up for the AGM and to those that helped in any way on the day, thank you. A special mention to Elwyn, who made beautiful corsages and a lovely floral display for the main table.

Also, to the chefs Helen, Jill, Robyn, and Judith who prepared the lunch which was Outback Stew with Rice and Crusty Bread (recipe attached!) followed by Apple Crumble with Custard and Cream, with the recipes taken from the QCWA Country Kitchens website. Well done everyone!
