Council’s 2022-2027 Corporate Plan in the spotlight

Council is inviting the community to have a say on its vision for the next five years as part of the development of its 2022-2027 Corporate Plan.

Over the last few months, Gympie region councillors have been reflecting on and discussing their vision for the region in areas such as community development, infrastructure, growth and the environment as part of the new plan’s development.

Mayor Glen Hartwig said that the group has come up with what it thinks is a good foundation for building the region’s future, and is now ready to check-in with the community.

“Council’s Corporate Plan sets a clear direction for council’s CEO in providing for, servicing and developing the region,” he said.

“This means that the content of our Corporate Plan very much impacts the projects being delivered by council and the day-to-day work of its various teams,” said Mayor Hartwig.

“We have a very active and involved community and we want to make sure that everyone’s voices are heard so that we can direct council’s resources accordingly.”

Drop in sessions are being held across the region.

“The intention of the sessions is for the community to reflect and provide feedback on the vision that has been developed by Council,” said Mayor Hartwig.

The sessions are being held in the following locations:

  • Curra Community Hall – 14 March 2022 – 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm
  • Cooloola Cove Veterans Hall – 17 March 2022 – 9.00 am – 12 noon
  • Goomeri Hall of Memory – 21 March 2022 – 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm
  • The Pavilion, Gympie Showgrounds – 23 March 2022 –  5.00 pm – 8.00pm
  • Imbil Public Hall – Mary Valley Show Hall – 25 March 2022 – 5.00 pm – 8.00 pm

The community is also being invited to complete a survey about the different elements of the Corporate Plan. The survey will be available on council’s website from 11 March 2022.

“The Corporate Plan is our plan for our region so we hope that as many people as possible from within our community step forward to have a say.”
