Tin Can Bay Fishing Club
It has been an extremely busy month. The Interclub Competition held over the long weekend attracted approximately 160 participants from six clubs. There were 11 prizes plus 2 juniors. J Beck from Hervey Bay Amateur Fishing Club and our own Josh House were the junior winners. The overall club prize and perpetual trophy went to Riverheads Fishing Club with 150.685 points. Tin Can Bay came fourth with 77.695. Everyone gathered for the weigh -ins with delicious BBQ lunch.
The second draw of the Caltex $500 fuel raffle won by a very excited Neville Maddison with 2nd prize of a $50 IGA voucher to Ben Anfuso. We are continuing on with another $500 fuel voucher raffle after enthusiastic interest. Remember these tickets are $2 each and available from club nights, markets or club members. The Caltex Fuel voucher can be used anywhere in Australia at ANY Caltex servo.
We have now been allocated a block of land in Tin Can Bay where we will be holding our monthly BBQ. This is the culmination of the monthly mini comp that any member can be involved in.
A representative from Marine Parks and Wildlife visited our meeting, and talked about green zones in our area, things we can do for our wildlife if injured and rules and regulations.
We will be at the Rainbow Beach Classic so come and say hi or join our club. Cost is $20 per adult $5 per child. Contact Robin on 54 862052 or email us at tcbfishingclub@gmail.com
Remember club night is the second Wednesday of the month, with our next meeting July 9, 6pm at the Country Club with a guest speaker from Fraser Coast Allied Fishing Group to talk on what is happening in our area.
