Santa Flies In To Rainbow On A Surge Of Community Spirit
Elisa Seul
As the festive season approaches, Rainbow Beach is gearing up for its much-anticipated annual event, ‘Santa Comes to Rainbow’, now in its remarkable 5th year.
The Community Centre, the heart of our vibrant town, will once again be the hub of joy and festivity. The event, organised by the CIRS Association, is a clear example of what can be achieved when a community comes together.
This year, we have received a grant from the Gympie Regional Council, which has generously recognised the value of this event in bringing our community together.
A special thank you goes to the Boomerang Bags Association. Our local ladies have been tirelessly sewing since August to create 150 handcrafted bags from recycled fabric.
These bags, filled with gifts sourced from local donations, are also a symbol of our community’s dedication to sustainability and support.
On Saturday 9 December, we invite everyone to gather at the Centre Block from 3pm to witness Santa’s grand arrival. And what a spectacle it will be!
Thanks to Rainbow Beach Helicopters, Santa’s entrance it’s always a magical moment that gives goosebumps to kids of all ages.
Setting the rhythm for the afternoon will be The RocknRollaBillys, a trio band known for their infectious energy and foot-tapping music. They’ll ensure everyone – from toddlers to grandparents – is up and dancing.
This event is definitely a reminder of the unique charm of Rainbow Beach. It’s a time when locals come together to share in the joy before the tourist season begins.
So, dress up, let your hair down, and dance into the holiday season with your neighbours and friends.
As we come together to celebrate, let’s also remember to stay safe and look out for one another. Here’s to a wonderful Christmas time, filled with laughter, music, and community spirit.
Happy holidays, Rainbow Beach – let’s make this 5th edition of ‘Santa Comes to Rainbow‘ the best one yet!
