With great excitement and enthusiasm and the weather in our favour, Trip 1 was held between Noosa River Mouth and the northern tip of Fraser Island on March 13 and 14. We had lines down at 6am Saturday with lines up at 12pm Sunday, with fish in the weigh-in area by 1pm Sunday at The Deck, Rainbow Beach.

We had 31 nominations for the trip, 24 seniors and seven juniors who caught 114 fish. A detailed breakdown of the weigh-in is available on our Facebook Page, Rainbow Beach Amateur Anglers Inc.

We welcome all new members, and the club has been established to cater for serious competitive anglers, families and newcomers to the sport wanting to learn.

We place a large emphasis on juniors with a dedicated Junior Mentor elected to the committee. With divisions in both inshore and offshore, we cater for land-based and boat fishers alike.

Our next trip (Trip 2) will be a ‘go as you please’ event held between Noosa River Mouth and the northern tip of Fraser Island on April 10, 2021.

For further details and to register your interest please contact our Club President, Drew Gardiner, on 0404 853 232 or drop in to Gardiner Fisheries at 1 Karoonda Road, Rainbow Beach.
