Our club has been so happy to welcome six new members into our club and also four keen prospective paddlers. All together the numbers coming to paddle means we need to take our two boats out on the water on our training days…what a great sight! If you would like to come and join us we would welcome you too!

21 November found us competing in the Manly Regatta at Lake Kawana. We trained hard for this one. There was stiff competition from teams from Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, and Gold Coast.

In our Club great importance is placed on team work both on and off the water. With this in mind, in mid-October, ten Dragons and two “brave” husbands of Dragons headed to the magnificent Carnavan Gorge for three days of physical and social activity, hiking, and climbing the many gorges within this area. All agreed the best part of the three days was the swim in the creek at the end of the day.

On Sunday 14 November our monthly meeting as well as our Annual General Meeting was held at the lovely home of our Head Coach Sandra Wooster and her husband Chris. A delicious barbecue lunch and games followed the meeting.

At the AGM Sandra was presented with a Life Membership Award for all her work and dedication over many years and in many positions within the Club.

Congratulations, well deserved Sandy!

Our Club will take a break from 9 December 2021 until 9 January 2022. For any info on Dragon Boating please phone Sandra on 0402352756.

Cooloola Dragon Boat Club wishes the community a very happy and safe Christmas and New Year season.
