Good news for City Farm

Cooloola City Farm Nurseries is a not-for-profit nursery growing Australian Native plants, and currently leases land from the Gympie Regional Council.

Council voted last month to extend the lease which was due to expire on October 20 for an additional ten year term.

The farm was originally a project of the Rotary Club of Gympie-Cooloola and was set up in 1998 to provide on-the-job horticulture training to various members of the community, especially youth and long-term unemployed.

The farm has developed into a native plant production nursery specialising in flora indigenous to South East Queensland and the Wide Bay areas.
