Wildflowering at Cooloola 2023

Sarah and Rod enjoying a wildflower walk

Sarah and Rod enjoying a wildflower walk

August is the month to step off the local streets and into the bushland to enjoy a proliferation of colourful wildflowers. You may be assisted with finding walking tracks and plant identification with the booklet Cooloola Wildflowers and Walks.

A second edition is going into print this month, with some additional flowering plants and descriptions. The booklet will continue to sell for $5, available from Rainbow Beach Post Office, Rainbow Beach Community Hall, and QPWS.

The Wildflowering at Cooloola program will be held on the weekend of 26-27 August.

On Saturday participants will meet in Rainbow Beach and be led on a variety of walks.  On Sunday, the focus is on native gardens in Cooloola Cove, with time to learn from and draw/paint/create with artists Joolie Gibbs and Susan Davis.

This event is organised by Cooloola Coastcare and Wild/flower Women.
