A 49-year-old man reported missing from Imbil on February 15 was located deceased yesterday.

There are no suspicious circumstances and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Gympie Police Inspector Steve Donnelly praised the efforts of SES volunteer searchers and police officers. “This was a protracted land, air and water search in very challenging terrain. We had our best search coordinators on this and the dedication and perseverance of the SES teams on the ground has brought closure for the family and friends.”

A search operation for a 49-year-old man reported missing in the Boroumba Dam area at Imbil is continuing today with divers joining the search.

Bruce Skewes (pictured) was camping in the vicinity of the dam, near the scenic lookout on Yabba Creek Road but has not made contact with family or friends since February 5.

He is Caucasian, 180cm tall with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police have spent this week conducting an extensive air, land and water search in the area involving local police, SES personnel and Polair.

Officers from the Police Dive Unit will today focus their efforts on an area near the south of the dam wall.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact police.
