By the time this article goes to print we will have finalized both of our free Junior Fishing Workshops and our free Senior Fishing workshop. There were 40 participants across both groups who received some great training and walked away at the end of the day with a better understanding of fishing basics plus some excellent Shimano gear – all at no cost to themselves.

We received some great feedback from those who attended and would like to thank all participants for coming along.

These days were made possible due to the funding provided by The Queensland Department of Agriculture & Fisheries and support from The Chandlery Bait & Tackle – plus the involvement of our Club Members in the planning and organization of the events.

For all those who missed out, we will be applying for funding to run these days again next year – so keep an eye out around the middle of next year.

On the fishing front it’s been a bit disappointing in the squid catching department, and the whiting seem to have been of the same mindset – but again that’s fishing. On a brighter note, club members have been reporting good catches of cod, slatey bream, tuskfish, flathead and sweetlip.
