Lace Up for parkrun

Parkrun is coming to Tin Can Bay in 2023

Get ready Cooloola Coast because parkrun is coming to Tin Can Bay!

Parkrun is a FREE community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer at, or spectate the 5 kilometre course that takes place every Saturday morning. Parkrun is a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience where there is no time limit and no one finishes last.

Set your alarm clocks early on Saturday 29 July parkrun will be launched at 7am at Wes Mitchell Park, Tin Can Bay. The Wes Mitchell Park parkrun will start in the park and run along the foreshore pathway up to the Crab Creek Boat Ramp and then return back to the park.

Prior to each event a First Timers Welcome is held at 6.50am for anyone new to parkrun and also any visitors who will be attending the event for the first time.

For those that are new to parkrun you can register to get your own personalised barcode so that each week you will be sent an email with your time from the event.  To register for your barcode go to www.parkrun.com.au/register

To warm up for the launch, there will be a couple of trial events on Sunday 9 July and then again on Sunday 16 July at 7am from Wes Mitchell Park.  Everyone is welcome to participate in these trial events so that you can get a taste of what parkrun is.

This parkrun has been made possible with a grant received through Gympie Regional Council’s Community Grants Program. If you want to find out more information about parkrun, go to www.parkrun.com.au or contact Event Director Greg Garner on 0488 601 750.
