With Anzac Day long weekend approaching, police are reminding beach goers to expect to see police anywhere, anytime.
You can expect to see us conducting enforcement and engagement activities for your safety.
Officers aren’t just focusing on the bitumen – we will also be reinforcing the message on our beautiful islands, beaches and inland tracks.
We need you to remember that road rules that apply on the mainland and on bitumen roads, also apply on beach and inland tracks when you’re off-roading.
Wearing your seatbelt and driving to the conditions are simple steps to take to ensure the safety of yourself and other beach and track users.
If your plans do involve drinking, remember that the same rules still apply on the beach and you can be over the limit the next day.
Drink driving can have serious consequences for you and your loved ones so if you’ve had a couple of drinks, do not get behind the wheel.
We want everyone to have a great Anzac Day long weekend, pay respect to fallen and current serving heroes, stay safe and remember that starts with your behaviour behind the wheel and as a passenger.
