3 opportunities for learning online and social media on the coast!
1 Council workshops across the coast
Gympie Regional Council is bringing the business of social media to the Cooloola Coast with a series of workshops planned during October.
Facilitated by Jess Riches, from Enriches Business, the workshops will show you how to get the most out of social media for your business.
The workshops commence with a beginner session in Tin Can Bay on October 11, focusing on the basics of Facebook and Instagram – getting started, creating content and scheduling, as well as the tools available to assist.
The intermediate session at Cooloola Cove on October 18 will focus on trends, reporting and advertising.
Rainbow Beach is the venue for the advanced session on October 25 which delves into behaviour tracking and breaking down ad campaigns.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about one of the widest reaching and least expensive forms of advertising for your business.
Bookings are essential and can be made at www.eventbrite.com.au or contact the Economic Development Unit on 1300 307 800 or economicdevelopment@gympie.qld.gov.au
2 Online presence for business, free tips and tricks session in Tin Can Bay
On Monday September 10, the Tin Can Bay Chamber of Commerce and Tourism will hold a free information session at the Tin Can Bay Country Club, exploring the issue of creating and maintaining an online presence for business.
Topics will include understanding websites, domain names, web hosting, site security, logos and branding, search engines, online directories, the ‘Cloud’ and social media for business.
Starting at 6pm, presenter Shakya Jemison will talk through the tips and tricks of the World Wide Web with plenty of time for specific questions. Shakya is also interested in hearing from local eateries or providers that are interested in a free listing on the Celebrate Gympie website, so if you can’t make it on the night then contact the Chamber for further information.
“The Chamber is working towards providing professional development and mentoring opportunities for our business community,” explained President Jess Milne.
This is a perfect opportunity for any local businesses to expand on their internet knowledge. The Chamber invites everyone who attends to stay on afterwards, order a meal from the restaurant and network with other local businesses.
For any business wanting to attend a full workshop to create a free online presence, register your interest by emailing tcbchamberofcommerce@gmail.com or call Jess Milne on 0411 218 254.
