November is going to be a big month for Tin Can Bay as it enters a new age era. The Tin Can Bay Chamber of Commerce are rallying to pull together a birthday celebration for the town that was once known as Wallu on Saturday 5 November.

Proposed to be held on Tom Steele Oval as a traditional nod to yesteryear events, it will be a casual morning to early afternoon of all-age fun.

Organisers are asking everyone to mark the date on their calendars and to dust off the picnic gear to make sure you have a place to base around the grounds so the whole family can enjoy a day to connect and reflect as a community. And if you are wondering, yes there will be cake!

Community organisations are invited to take part with their own group history displays and to hold demonstrations or workshops on the day.

Do you have something from Tin Can Bay’s past that you’d like to share? There is an opportunity for inside displays but space is limited.

If you’d like to be involved then please email tcbchamberofcommerce@gmail.com or call 0411 218 254. Follow the Tin Can Bay Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for updates.
