Canoe and kayak strategy

Developed in September 2015, the official launch is September 22. Works at canoe and kayak launch points have been focussed at the Gympie Weir (near Kidd Bridge), Attie Sullivan Park (near Normanby Bridge) and Kandanga Weir (near the old railway station carpark).

There are also plans to construct two additional launch points on Yabba Creek in Imbil by the end of November 2017.

Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail

Council has also recently finished the section of the KKRT which meets the South Burnett section to complete the 90km hike, bike and horse ride experience. The official opening of this great trail will be in early September.

Volunteer famil to Tin Can Bay and Surrounds

In July the VIC volunteers visited: Standown Park, Tinnanbar Waters B & B, Tin Can Bay Yacht Club, birdwatching along the foreshore of Tin Can Bay and Cooloola Berries.
