LOCATED: Search and rescue, Gympie

A 30-year-old man reported missing since November 1 in the Gympie region has been located safe and well this afternoon.

The community and media are thanked for their assistance.

Police have commenced a land and air search of the Gympie area for 30-year-old Owen Lucas who has been missing since yesterday evening.

Owen (pictured) arrived at an address in Wolvi around 9.30pm on November 1 and left around midnight with a black suitcase. The suitcase was located unattended this morning near an educational facility in Wolvi with his possessions still inside.

Police and family hold serious concerns for Mr Lucas as he suffers a medical condition which requires medication.

Owen is described as Caucasian with a slim build, around 185cm tall, clean shaven with brown short hair. He was last seen wearing a dark green patterned shirt with long dark trousers and hiking boots.

Police are urging residents in the Gympie, Wolvi and Cooloola Cove areas to please check their properties for Owen.

Anyone else who may have seen him or know his whereabouts is urged to come forward.
