Over $11,000 raised for Legacy

legacy 1Legacy is the grateful beneficiary of the annual fundraiser which is held at the Rainbow Beach Sports, Recreation and Memorial Club on Anzac Day.

Paul McMahon was very happy with the event and the support of the business community, “This year we believe we will be in excess of $11,000.”

“A huge thank you goes to all of the donors but in particular Natasha and Dan Dimmock, owners of The Remote Resort, off Taveuni Island, Fiji.”

“Some of our honoured guests included ex Qld Premier Mike Ahern, his wife Andrea and family. Also the Member for Gympie, the Honourable David Gibson, attended and addressed the guests by thanking them for supporting Legacy and acknowledging the Sports Club for its contribution.”

The raffle was drawn today by Mr Gibson and the winner of the holiday is Ms Sheryl Campbell of Buderim Qld (ticket No 168).   This prize alone raised $4,000.

There were also many cash donations and valued items donated to auction and raffle. Fiona and Nigel Worthington were most generous by donating two holiday accommodation packages at Fraser Island Beach House at Eurong.

Mr McMahon concludes, “The continued cooperation of the Sports Club, in supporting this event, helps to ensure a quality of life for our Legatees.”
