It’s almost time for the Rainbow Beach Pig Day Out
Visit Rainbow Beach on the June long weekend and you are in for some fun and great prizes including accommodation, tours and fuel vouchers.
On Sunday from 11am you can bid and win cash on the famous Peak Crossing Mini Pig Races, ride a bucking bull, or have a go at the milking cow contest, feed the baby animals in the petting zoo and shop at market stalls. Then there is a licensed bar and yummy food including Devonshire teas.
Plus this year there will be a hillbilly shootout, emergency services (fire, ambo, police), live music, melanoma clinic, fire twirling and classic cars and hot rods.
Held on the June long weekend, the Pig Day Out raises money for melanoma research and the school. It is the third year it has been run, in the loving memory of Bruce and Terri Geissmann’s daughter Kelly, who passed away from melanoma 3 years ago.
The fun begins with a sausage sizzle from 11am – 2pm at Rainbow Beach Hardware Fishing n Camping, followed by Karaoke that night at the Rainbow Beach Surf Club.
