Sue Fitzgerald with sons Darryl and Scott of Rainbow Beach Meats says home is everywhere Mum is on Mother’s Day

While the options on where to go for Mother’s Day may be a little limited this year, what a great year to be inventive. Check out who is open on the coast on pages 14 and 15 for takeaways and deliveries.

We asked a few mums what they would be doing this year. Dee White of Cooloola Coast Realty said she would: “Have a walk on the beach with our dogs to start the day and then a big brekky cook-up by my two teenage girls and hubby.”

Natasha Dimmock said the day would start for her mum Maureen Mitchell of RB Tourist Info with ham, deviled eggs and mimosa’s, which is Sam’s specialty, followed by Facetime with the kids and grandkids. “Lots to be thankful for with a mum like Maurs.”

When asked what Mother’s Day means, Elisa Seul of Rainbow Beach Pizza and Grill said: “I am inspired by the other mums, as we are in the motherhood journey together. I see mums doing an amazing job, even though we doubt ourselves.”

Owner of Rainbow Beach Realty, Andrew Hawkins said: “Mother’s Day is a great reminder for me to spoil Mum every day of the year, not just this one.”

While new Councillor for Division 1, Jess Milne said: “It is a day to reflect on all the good things my mother taught me and enjoy being spoiled by two girls for being their lucky mum.”

Sue Fitzgerald nailed it saying: “Home is everywhere Mum is.”
