DroughtRunners Report August 2022
Our work this month has really been a carbon copy of the last. We have continued to help those impacted by the recent floods. Again for the last month we have sent $1000 into the Foodworks at Goomeri to help Blaze-Aid feed their volunteer workers that are repairing and replacing fencing on farms in the Wide Bay area. Another $1000 has gone into Gympie to feed those left homeless after the flooding.
Really we don’t know how lucky we are on the Cooloola Coast to have a roof over our head after you see the plight of our neighbours in and around Gympie queueing up for a meal. A lot of us have seen tough times during the 70s and again in the 90s but just tighten the belt for the ride ahead as it may not be pretty!
Thank yous this month to our donors Greg Jones, Big 4 at Rainbow Beach, and Wayne Kerle as we continue the bottle and can collections. Thank you to all that donated to our house bins (10 Tingira Close) and the continued help at Bay Auto Tin Can Bay. Thanks to all that donated to our tins at Tin Can Bay Bakery for another $120, Goomboorian store, and Mitchells Fruit & Veg.
We are not taking food donations at present, but many thanks to those that offered. For the next couple of months we are just doing cash donations. Our details are BSB 124047 A/C 22599186 Bank of Queensland (RB DroughtRunners).
