The Cooloola Coast will be getting a few extra visitors at the end of March with Defence Force personnel from Gallipoli Barracks converging on townships to conduct Exercise Ram Horn.

Between 400-500 soldiers from the 8th/9th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment will be in action around Tin Can Bay and Cooloola Cove from 24 March to 6 April.

Exercise Ram Horn is designed to train the soldiers in non-combatant evacuation operations and activities are expected be conducted in and around Norman Point, Crab Creek, Chooky Mallet Park, and Cooloola Airfield, which include night operations at selected locations.

There will be further information available closer to the training date so keep an eye out in local media and for signs/flyers.
