Our August plant of the month is Acacia fimbriata, commonly known as the fringed wattle or Brisbane golden wattle.

It is a species of Acacia that is native along much of the east coast of Australia. It is a hardy, popular, evergreen, short-trunked tree with dense foliage cover of soft light green linear leaves.

A small tree, it grows to 5m mainly in moist areas, and has perfumed yellow ball flowers.
