Caring for our Community grants
The Caring for our Community 2013-14 funding round is now open. Community organisations and volunteer groups are invited to apply for one-off funding of up to $5000 to purchase essential equipment to enhance service delivery to Queenslanders. The majority of grants will be up to $5000. A small number of grants between $5000 and $15,000 may be available depending on the needs of particular communities for specific projects and equipment.
Examples of eligible items (please note, these are examples only) • Computers, printers and computer related equipment including upgraded software • Office equipment • Refrigerators and kitchen equipment e.g. microwave ovens, dishwashers • Fixtures and fittings (if the organisation owns their premises or has a lease up to at least June 2015) • Safety equipment e.g. helmets, fire equipment • Communication items e.g. mobile phones, UHF radios, public address systems
Examples of ineligible items • Running expenses e.g. gas, electricity, hire of premises etc. • Administrative expenses e.g. postage, stationery, printing, cleaning, book-keeping, audit fees • Insurance expenses • Travel and transport expenses e.g. fares, vehicle allowances • Training expenses including volunteer training • Advertising and publicity costs to promote community awareness and involvement • Catering costs • Tutor, speaker or consultant’s fee • Purchase of prizes, gifts, incentives or awards • Staff-related expenses
