Winter Trees on Mary back bigger than ever in 2018
For the first time, the annual Winter Trees on Mary event will close the length of lower Mary and Smithfield Street to allow for more entertainment, train, horse and cart rides and market stalls.
Council would like to notify residents and businesses of road closures from the corner of Monkland and Mary Streets to the Fiveways from 4.00pm on Wednesday 18 July 2018. Road closures will be in place until approximately 10pm.
Smithfield Street will also be closed on both sides between 4.00pm – 10.00pm. Council will be directing traffic out of the area from 4.00pm onwards to allow for stall setup.
Winter Trees on Mary is an annual community celebration for all ages. This year’s event will include kid’s activities, live entertainment on the Centre Stage, wine and cheese tasting, boutique shopping and a beanie and mitten competition.
Restaurants, cafes and shops in the Town Centre will remain open for late night shopping.
Businesses in the Town Centre are advised to organise important or urgent deliveries prior to the day, as incoming traffic will not be permitted after 4pm.
