Sensational weather for sailing

Sensational weather for sailing

By TCBYC

At time of writing there have been two glorious race days with sunny skies and about 10 knots of wind that have seen 15 boats, from several different classes, out on the water.

Wednesday afternoon sailing is becoming popular. These sails are not a race but a cruise to a certain destination and back – anyone is welcome.

Both the races and the cruises are generally followed by a social drink at the yacht club and now, some wood oven-baked pizzas.

Green Fleet

Australian Sailing (sailing’s national peak body) initiated the concept ‘Green Fleet’ to encourage clubs to keep learner sailors involved in club activities after attending a basic ‘learn to sail’ course.

The TCBYC encourages not only those who have attended a basic sailing course, but also ‘would-be’ sailors (adults and juniors) to attend our Green Fleet days to have a try.

Unfortunately, the September school holiday programme will not be going ahead. However, junior would-be sailors are encouraged to attend Green Fleet.

We are optimistic that the January holiday programme will be able to occur.
