Dragon boating offer 3 free trials!

We had an enquiry the other day – a family was new in town, and wanted to know what sports they could play without travelling to Gympie. I rattled off a few – our kids have been in karate, nippers and swim clubs, but when I thought about it, there was so much more on offer…

Dance

For those families into dance, Cooloola Coast Rec Dance Club has classes for all ages – from Tiny Tots, ages 3-4, Tinies age 4-5, Subbies age 6-8, Juniors age 9-12 and Inters from ages 13 to 17.

There’s also one for the mums with a seniors team from 17 up. Boys are welcome in all age groups and sign on day is in February. Check out our Facebook page: Cooloola Coast Rec Club for updates or call 0448 107 996. Rego fee and class fees payable.

Fire Twirling

The Rainbow Fire Weavers meet every Monday at 5pm at the Community Hall. We choreograph fire shows on these days and have set performance dates for the end of each term – (term fees, $120).

Friday Night Fire Twirling is at 6pm (bookings essential), $10 per person. Book in at Tree Beards or contact Tina 0409 631 127

Nippers

Nippers begin learning vital surf awareness and skills from the minimum age of 5 years, right through until they complete the program at 14 years of age. New members are welcome to join at any time during the season.

Nippers resume January 24, then every Sunday on the beach, from 8.30 to 10.30am, until Easter. For any information please call Nerissa Legge 0408 731 104

Little Athletics

Cooloola Coast Little Athletics is based on track and field but events are diverse – running, jumping, throwing and walking.   Modified to suit the age and ability of the participants, the emphasis is on getting out there and giving it a go.

Training sessions are on Thursday afternoons at the Tin Can Bay State School Oval starting at 3pm. Please contact us on ccla2014@outlook.com  or call 0458 111 591.

Board riders

All are welcome, whether you are a first time surfer or have been doing it since you were in nappies! The club has friendly competitions and hosts the annual Memorial Classic.

It isn’t just about the competition, but getting together with the surfing community of Rainbow Beach – and keeping up tradition. Like us on Facebook: Rainbow Beach Boardriders Club Inc. or call 0419 929 037.

Swim Clubs

If you haven’t been involved in swimming or a swim club before, visit your local pool and give it a go.
