Father’s Day is a wonderful time to celebrate and share gratitude with the people who have helped us become who we are. This includes dads, grandads, step-parents, parents’ partners, devoted uncles, single mums that fulfill all parental roles, family friends, and anyone else that we consider family.

“Anyone who does anything to help a child in their life is a hero.” – Fred Rogers

And what better place to pay tribute to these amazing people than here in our fabulous region!

Need some ideas of how to spoil that special person? Here are a few suggestions:

It’s not too late to buy them a ticket to the Rainbow Beach Spring Fest – held the day before Father’s Day, it’s a great chance to spend quality time together while enjoying some live music.

Take him to lunch at the Surf Club and enjoy the view from the deck, or drop into the Sports Club for a cold drink. And while you’re there grab him some Fishing Classic merchandise – we may not have had the event, but you can still wear the gear.

Check out Cooloola Coast Furniture and Bedding for gift ideas – there is no such thing as too many mugs.

Does your special person love gardening? Spring is a great time to head to Cooloola Mitre 10 to grab pots and garden tools to help them get stuck into their hobby.

Rainbow Beach Pharmacy always has gorgeous little gifts and cards on sale, or maybe he needs some pampering with some lush bodywash or moisturiser.

What about a day on the water? Check out the fishing and boating section of the paper for our local fishing charters and tackle shops.

But of course the best gift of all is time spent together, whatever you do just enjoy the day with those closest to you if you can – and make the most of our beautiful surroundings.
