Cracker of a Christmas in the Cove

The Cooloola Coast Residents and Friends association topped off 2021 with the fantastic Christmas in the Cove event. With free activities, free games, free entertainment, free slushies, and fairy floss it was a hive of activity thanks to a grant from Gympie Regional Council.

There were hyped up kids bouncing out the energy on the jumping castle, obstacle course races (did anyone see Cr Milne’s run?), cornhole challenges, big Connect 4, colouring in, Christmas tree craft, fabulous face painting by Daisy, killer karaoke with Jen, stalls in the hall, art and craft comp, a beaut uke performance, big ball soccer, and a special visit from Santa in the fire truck.

The weather held out this year for the Christmas carols to remain outside so as the sun went down the big screen lit up with words of all the favourites. Gary from the Cooloola Wesleyan Methodist Church led the carols with live music and the audience belting out the words.

Cooloola Cove Residents and Friends would like to thank the Cooloola Wesleyan Methodist Church, Cooloola Coast Youth Activity Project, Cooloola Ukulele Group, and all the wonderful volunteers that make these events possible. The event was proudly sponsored by Gympie Regional Council as part of the Community Development Grants Program Round 1.
