Gympie Regional Council has officially launched the Gympie Region Studio Trails 2022, which runs from Saturday 3 September to Sunday 18 September.

The Cooloola Coast is full of artists, artisans, and creative spaces and four of the area’s best are inviting people into their private studios, ateliers, and exhibition spaces as part of the always-popular Studio Trails.

Gympie Region Studio Trails provides an opportunity to meet the makers and gain an intimate insight into their work, skills, stories, inspiration, and creative practices.

Rainbow Beach Community Hall, Rainbow Beach Pizza, Jill McDonald, and The Cooloola Coast Art Group are the Cooloola Coast contingent participating in this year’s Gympie Region Studio Trails.

A collective of local artists will transform the Rainbow Beach Hall into an art gallery with an exhibition showcasing the incredible talent of the Rainbow Beach community.

The artists involved in this exhibition are Jennifer Tanner, Karen Hall, Rainbow Ze, Yarra, MoCean Art, Net Rae Art, Rory Sanders Photography, Saltwood Art, Carla Riehl, Phyllis Peakman, Lexi Illustrator, Catch That Chris Photography, and the local art group of Rainbow Beach.

The exhibition space, located at 32 Rainbow Beach Road, will be open every Friday and Saturday throughout the event.

Step inside Rainbow Beach Pizza at 1/48 Shop Rainbow Beach Road and view a collection of works from local artist Lynette Dimmock of Net Rae Art.

Lynette’s inspiration is the beach and capturing the vivid colours of the landscape. The Rainbow Beach Pizza exhibition space is open every Tuesday to Saturday from 4pm to 9pm.

Make sure you check out the fabulous mural by James R Ellis on the outside wall of Rainbow Pizza while you are there! And take the time to discover his other murals dotted throughout the town.

Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, Jill McDonald’s beautiful gallery at 16 King Street, Tin Can Bay is a colourful oasis of hand-hand-painted silk scarves, fashion, decorative art and unique hand-crafted décor.

Jill’s studio will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

The Cooloola Coast Art Group is a dedicated group of art enthusiasts who explore a variety of mediums and techniques to produce a diverse collection of works on display at the stunning Tuncunba Gardens homestead.

The group has a variety of classes available as part of Studio Trails, including Exploring Colour from 9am to 12pm on Monday 12 September and Create Your Own Travel Journal from 9am to 12pm on Tuesday 13 September. Both classes cost $25 with morning tea and materials provided.

The Cooloola Coast Art Group’s studio located at 20 Gympie Road, Tin Can Bay will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
