Brent’s Burgers has arrived!
Michelle Gilmore
Brent’s Burgers was a pipe dream of long-time locals, Brent and Alexandra Klekar, but a pipe dream has become a reality!
This dynamic duo have leapt into new directions for 2019 with the eatery – after Brent has spent 15 years at sea as a Marine Engineer, and Alex has a graduate nursing position at Gympie Hospital, starting February.
Brent realised a family-friendly business in Rainbow Beach would mean a lifestyle where he can be home more.
Brent told us, “We have always loved food and thought that we wanted to offer the town a different option in terms of dining, and a burger bar seemed like a fitting way to make this happen.”
The burgers we tasted were delicious! Mine was filled with pork belly and coleslaw, and my family gave the thumbs up as well – two had the Peri Peri chicken and one devoured the Signature Burger.
I’m looking forward to trying the vego option, plus there’s also fish and chips, wings, cocktails and lots more burgers to try.
Meanwhile, Alex is excited about her new direction for 2019. “I have enjoyed contributing to the community in my past role as a teacher, but have always had the thought brewing that nursing is what I wanted to do with my life.
“Life really is too short not to give things a go.”
Said Brent, “I was born here, we are invested in this town and want to see the community thrive, Rainbow has been a fantastic place to live, work and raise our family and we feel pretty lucky to call it home.”
You’ll find Brent’s Burgers at 8 Rainbow Beach Road, Rainbow Beach (where Coffee Rocks was, next to Epic Ocean Adventures).
The kitchen is open weekdays 7am-9pm, weekends 6.30am-10pm, burgers from 10am, and the bar closes at midnight daily. Call 07 5486 8877 or drop in!
