The good weather during the past few weeks has provided members with the opportunity for fishing both the inside and outside waters.

There have been reports of tailor, whiting, bream, flathead, cod and trevally up to 3kg being caught in the inlet waters from Snapper Creek to Inskip.

The largest fish that was caught last month was a 4.275kg slatey bream. There have been reports of good catches of all species including snapper, parrot, cod and pearl perch east of Fraser Island.

Due to the success and very well attended Youth Fishing Day in July, the club is hosting another Youth Fishing Day at Norman Point on Wednesday , September 21, commencing at 8am and finishing at noon. Phone 0437 242 171 to register.

The Tin Can Bay Fishing Club will have a stall at the Seafood Festival and we look forward to meeting visitors and members of our community during the festival. Club membership is welcome and information regarding the Great Sandy Straits and Wide Bay Bar will be available.

The Annual General Meeting of the Tin Can Bay Fishing Club will be held on Sunday, October 9 at the Club’s premises 33 Dolphin Avenue, Tin Can Bay. The AGM will be held immediately after the General Meeting that will commence at 10am.
