Rainbow Beach DroughtRunners/FloodRunners Report August 2023

Over the past months we have continued to support the Gympie Homeless, so that those with no fixed address can enjoy a late afternoon cooked meal. Another $1,000 has been donated there.

We have also put another $1,000 into Eugowra down near Forbes in NSW as they have a long recovery ahead from last November’s floods.

A big thank you to the Big 4 at Carlo Point for allowing us to collect the bottles and cans there as well as Wolf Rock Dive, the Watts Family, and all who donate to our bins at 10 Tingira Close.

Then we have the Tin Can Bay Holiday Park, Tin Can Bay Yacht Club, and all in Tin Can Bay that donate to Wayne Kerle’s pick ups. Many thanks also to all that donate to our collection tins in Rainbow Beach, Tin Can Bay, and Gympie – they really help to keep us going.

We know the economy is tough with many feeling the pinch so let’s hope for no more disasters in the near future.

It was amazing to get a thank you call from Kevin Butler, the founder of Blaze Aid, after our past donations to them of $20,000 which helped in their efforts with fencing after the 2020 Fires in northeast Victoria and with flood repairs in the Goomeri – Murgon areas.
