Pig Racing and Bucking Bulls for the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend
For the first time ever in Rainbow Beach, there will be pig racing at the Rainbow Beach Surf Club! The Famous Peak Crossing Mini Pigs are coming to Rainbow Beach for a huge day of
fundraising for The Australian Melanoma Research Foundation. Plus that’s not all for the family fun day on June 9, there’ll be:
- pig auctions – photo opportunities with the little pigs.
- pig racing ( loads of fun ) – opportunity to pat and hug the little pigs
- mechanical bucking bull with prize money
- jumping castle
- face painting
- helium balloons
- colouring in competitions with prize money
- brochures and info re melanoma and skin care
- breakfast
- a special cup-cake stall
- food and drinks
- licensed bar
- lunch
- market stalls
Two huge raffles include:
Raffle 1. One boy’s and one girl’s pushbike (with helmets, sunnies, sunscreen and all other accessories you need to ride your bike)
Raffle 2. One little boy’s and one little girl’s rocking horse (complete with sunnies and sunscreen)
Then you can guess the closest to the correct number of M&Ms in the Big Glass Jar and win the Big Glass Jar full of M&Ms. In fact, you can purchase your Raffle Tickets and have M&M guesses and also collect drawings for the Colouring In Competition from the Rainbow Beach Hardware NOW!! (Editor’s Note: it is not just a big glass jar – it is huge!)
Kell’s Fun Pig Racing Day is proudly sponsored by Rainbow Beach Surf Club and Bruce and Terri Geissmann of Rainbow Beach Hardware, Fishing n Camping in memory of their daughter, Kelly Geissmann. Kelly passed away five months ago and Bruce and Terri are striving to raise money in her memory for melanoma research. Terri says, “There is no cure, no treatment, no funding from the government, no nothing!!”
