The Ramsar Secretariat has announced ‘Wetlands for our Future: Sustainable Livelihoods’ as the theme for World Wetlands Day in 2016.

This theme is selected to demonstrate the vital role of wetlands for the future of humanity, and specifically their relevance towards achieving the new Sustainable Development Goals. For more information visit: http://www.ramsar.org

Rainbow Beach’s Carlo Wetlands is one of only five Ramsar sites that drain to the internationally recognised Great Sandy Ramsar Wetlands of Tin Can Inlet.

Cooloola Coastcare will hold a World Wetlands Day Event February 2, 2016 at Cooloola Cove, and a photography exhibition at Rainbow Beach.
