Youth Coastcare begins!

Coastcare - Bruce Rochester sent in this photo: “We had the unexpected privilege of watching a mumma turtle heading back to the surf, on Inskip Beach at night. We kept our distance but watched until she made it to the surf because we didn’t want her to get run over. Amazing experience for us and the kids!” You can keep a look out too, with daily walks for TurtleCare until March

As a new year begins, Cooloola Coastcare is ramping up for a bumper year of activities, actions, outings, education, research and fun!

This is all possible because of the active participation by our growing group of members across all age groups. Enthusiastic nature lovers who rally interested members of the local community and friends from afar to learn about and protect this very unique and internationally recognised natural environment that we all call home.

In 2021 here are just a few of the activities you can join in with that range from Citizen Science activities like water quality monitoring to wildflower walks with artists.

We are excited to have a Youth Coastcare Group forming in the Rainbow Beach area and a new weeding group at Rainbow Shores helping to keep the natural areas free from introduced plants and weeds.

We provide all the equipment and training. Meet new people who love nature; help protect and preserve the environment and get fit in the outdoors.

Come and join us. Contact Lindy Orwin, coordinator or check out our website and join our FaceBook group to find out more. Website: cooloolacoastcare.org.au, email coordinator@cooloolacoastcare.org.au or phone 0478 039 322.
