Unlock your artistic side
There are loads of creative activities and workshops taking place throughout January at the Gympie Regional Gallery:
Ways of Seeing – Gympie Messmate Park, Kia Ora until January 23.
What is Whittling – 10.30am to 12pm, January 6 and 13, watch woodworker John Gerritsen whittle away some lovely wooden animals. John is a ‘bushy’, having spent much of his life working in conservation management in outback Australia. He now lives locally carving a living out of creating native timber sculptures and original bush furniture.
Artist-in-Residence series – Join members of the Tuesday Art Group, 10am to 12pm, January 12 and 19, as they demonstrate art-making techniques.
Recovering the Past on display by artist Ian Alderman with a Q&A Zoom session 6pm, January 21. Learn how this six-year project came about and his clever photographic process. Come to the gallery and be part of a group, or log in from your home computer.
