P-3 Fun Run Winners

Tuncan Reigns Supreme!

Congratulations to Tuncun who has once again outscored Wallu, this time in the school Cross Country and Fun Run. Student attendance and participation was high and the competition was fierce as yellow and blue flashed around the courses.

The sports captains did a fantastic job leading cheers, supporting runners and keeping spirits high. Thank you to all family and community members who came along to enjoy the atmosphere and cheer on the runners.

Wallu’s last chance of redemption will be the 4-10 Athletics Carnival and P-3 Mini Olympics to be held in June. Families are welcome to come along and watch the fun. Keep an eye out in the School Newsletter and Facebook page for dates and times!

Year 9 and 10 Brisbane ANZAC Excursion

On Wednesday, April 24, the Year 9 and 10 students began their term 2 History units with an excursion to Brisbane to gain a deeper understanding of Australia’s involvement in World War I and II. They were among more than 2000 students involved in the very moving and solemn Student ANZAC service, held at ANZAC Square in the city.

Students then visited the ANZAC Legacy Gallery at Queensland Museum to explore the stories of Queensland soldiers involved in war, personal items belonging to those on the front line, and objects of war and warfare – including the Mephisto – the only surviving WWI German Army Tanker in the world.
