Tin Can Bay P-10 School is back on January 27

The School year will start for all Tin Can Bay students on Wednesday January 27, following the Australia Day Public Holiday on January 26.
The School will be closed on Monday January 25, as Tin Can Bay Staff will be holding their Pupil Free Day during the last week of the Summer vacation.
The Principal and staff wish all Tin Can Bay State School students and families a safe and relaxing holiday, and look forward to working with you again next year.
Farewells – Mrs Callie Sparling has been successful in obtaining a Deputy Principal position in Brisbane. Mrs Sparling has been an integral member of the Tin Can Bay executive team in her role as Deputy Principal, and will be missed by the whole School Community.
Mrs Robyn Cottrell will replace Mrs Sparling as Deputy Principal in Term 1, while Mrs Louise Masri will be filling in as Head of Department. Mrs Honeywill will be acting HOSES in Semester 1, replacing Mrs Mannaert.
The Swimming Carnival held at the Tin Can Bay Pool last Thursday was a huge success despite the windy conditions. Student participation was outstanding, and team spirit and excellent behaviour was on full display. Congratulations to our Age Champions and thanks to Mr Arthur and Miss Sauer for organising the event.
School Calendars 2016 Purchase yours from the Tin Can Bay Fruit Shop at $3 each. The School Calendars contain important dates including Public Holidays, Pupil Free Days, and various school events.
Bus Travel in 2016 You may be required to re-register your student for bus travel in 2016. Contact Polleys (5480 4500) to collect your forms before the rush! Register over the holidays to avoid having to pay fares at the start of Term 1. You will need to re-register your students for 2016 if:
- They were in Grade 6 in 2015
- They were in Grade 10 in 2015
- The student’s home address has changed
- The student is changing school
The Uniform Shop will be open Tuesday, January 19, and Thursday, January 21, between 8am and 10am. Some discontinued lines are still available. The Uniform Shop is open on Tuesday mornings between 8.00 and 10.00am and accepts cash or EFTPOS.
