Here’s what you can expect from the 2021 Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic! Along with the fishing competition, live entertainment, expo and family fun make this year’s event another celebration of surf, sun and sand – guaranteed to create some very special memories.

Sunday August 15 

Skippers Talk 

Registrations from 2pm onwards – pick up your competitor’s bag, fishing classic and club membership cards. Look out for Fishing Classic sublimated fishing shirts, hoody jumpers and stubby holders.

5pm (approximately) – briefing for fishers.

Twilight Fishing and Outdoor Expo, on all week! Come check out the wares and displays from ARB, Coopers, Oztac Engineering, Salty Gear and Madills Toyota!

Monday August 16

First Weigh-ins 

Note: there is no entry fee to watch the weigh-ins, categories include Beach, Reef, Big and Jew Fish.

Low tide is before breakfast today! Perfect for a walk on the beach, under our Coloured Sands.

7am Fitness class at Rainbow Beach Gym.

8.45am Pilates at Rainbow Beach Community Hall: 0432 690 194.

10.30am Storytime at Rainbow Beach Library: 5486 3705.

4pm-6pm First Fish weigh-in followed by presentations.

Tuesday August 17

Veteran’s Day

7am Fitness class at Rainbow Beach Gym.

7am Yoga at the new viewing platform, weather permitting, bookings essential.

9am Bingo at the Sports Club.

4pm-6pm Fish weigh-in followed by presentations, sponsored by Coopers Tyres.

Wednesday August 18

Ladies Day 

Tennis, anyone? The courts will still be open most days – so why not book in: 5486 3191 and then treat yourself to a long lunch!

4pm-6pm Fish weigh-in followed by presentations and a major drawdown – any woman who weighs in a fish today could win a week on Fraser Island, courtesy of Doug Bell and Orchid Gums.

5pm-7pm Wine and cheese tasting courtesy of Wild Oats.

Entertainment by Cool Lula in the clubhouse.

Thursday August 19

7am Yoga at the new viewing platform, weather permitting, bookings essential.

Follow this up with a tour – you could learn to surf or kayak with the dolphins at Double Island Point.

4pm-6pm Councillor’s Cook-Off: Team 1 is Mayor Glen Hartwig and CEO Shane Gray, with Cr Dolly Jensen and Cr Bruce Devereaux in Team 2. A lot of laughs and some surprises in store!

4pm-6pm Fish weigh-in followed by presentations.

Friday August 20

Kids’ Day

If you’re aren’t fishing, why not enjoy a relaxed roll, up at the bowls green?

4pm-6pm Fish weigh-in followed by presentations.

Play on the jumping castle, enjoy entertainment by Daniel Day in the clubhouse.

Saturday August 21

Grand Finale 

All morning – Tin Can Bay Markets where you’ll be sure to find a bargain. Head over early, feed the dolphins, enjoy breakfast at Barnacles or the Marina Bar and Grill!

2 – 4pm Fish weigh-in followed by presentations and the drawdowns!

Entertainment by Destiny’s Plan Duo in the clubhouse.
