Have fun yabby pumping at the RBAA fishing clinic this school holidays

Can you believe it is already that time of year – yes, the September school holidays are here, and what better place to enjoy them than here in the natural beauty of our region.

It will be interesting to see how the interstate lockdowns affect visitor numbers – but it is highly likely Queenslanders will use this opportunity to explore their own state.

Here are a few ideas for things to do with the kids over that precious two-week break:

Fishing Clinic For Kids

Rainbow Beach Amateur Anglers is holding their fishing clinic again on September 18.

They will be heading out to Inskip Point from 8am to 11.30am. Head along and catch some yabbies, learn how to throw a cast net, try your luck with a soft plastic rod. You may even win a prize!

Tackle the Cooloola Great Walk

Want to immerse yourself in all that Mother Nature has to offer in this stunning region? Strap on some hiking boots and take the time to really explore our magnificent coastline on the Cooloola Great Walk. A topographic map is essential, as is experience in navigation and remote bushwalking, before attempting this challenging walk.

Get on yer bike

For an adventure on two wheels head to the Mary Valley with a self-guided bike tour of the Rail Trail to see bellbirds and many other native animals. The family-friendly track between Imbil and Brooloo is an easy 9.6kms and passes mostly through state forest.
