Rainbow Beach State School Concert

It was entertainment plus at the Rainbow Beach State School annual concert, held at the Rainbow Beach Community Centre.

The fun started with life size games on the lawn, and a BBQ and Bar, before a farewell filled with bubbles for Mrs. Mason.

It was lovely to see so many supporting businesses and community members celebrate with us on the night.

There were Christmas carols, dances, and a hilarious “This is Your Life” for Mrs Mason – a play by 4/5/6 class which included many little Mrs Masons and even a younger Ron.

Bj Parton was recognised for her wonderful work feeding the school at Tuckshop, and for the first time, two awards for each class were presented, with the Kingsley’s scooping the pool:

1/2 – Alex Kingsley and Zoe Kingsley

3/4 – Jasmin White and Nathan Kingsley

4/5/6 – Emma Worthington and Oscar Speed

This was thanks to the generosity of Café Jilarty, Rainbow Beach Hotel, Rainbow Beach Gas Supplies, Cooloola Coast Realty, Rainbow Sea Resort, Rainbow Ocean Palms Resort, Rainbow Beach Pharmacy and Cooloola Cove Smiles.

Two special bursaries were awarded to Sophie Brantz and Bailey Orazio for showing “effort exceeding expectation”.

They were donated by the Rainbow Beach Community Centre in tribute to Murray Johnston. His wife Margaret told the audience about his determination to learn, and encouraged students to approach life with the same resolve.

In the grand finale we heard the beautiful voices of the choir, and a special rendition of “Lanterns”/ The lyrics of the song by Birds of Tokyo, “our day is come… we’ll light our way with our lanterns on..” were perfect to not only farewell our year 6 students, but also for Mrs Mason’s final song.

Congratulations to all involved on a lovely night, and to our principal Michael Grogan, staff, P&C and the school community – we are lucky to have such a brilliant school in our small town.
