Rainbow Beach School Year Off To An Eventful Start

Rainbow Beach’s inaugural Kindy class!

Rainbow Beach’s inaugural Kindy class!

What an interesting and eventful start to the school year in 2022 it has been!

The delayed return of school, quickly followed by the record high floods recorded along the Eastern Seaboard have certainly had a major impact on our regional communities.

While we have been very fortunate here in Rainbow Beach to have come through this period with very little negative impact, some of our friends and colleagues, schools, businesses, and clubs in neighbouring communities have had major challenges to face.

It is in times such as these that I am reminded of the resilience and strength often displayed and required to overcome adversity.

As staff we have been focused on providing students the opportunity to engage with all the critical content planned for Term 1 so that we can start Term 2 fresh.

I want to acknowledge the commitment and hard work of all of our team over the Term. I am always amazed how our staff are able to create dynamic learning environments and engaging learning opportunities while being able to nurture children’s wellbeing.

We are very excited to have commenced our Kindy program this Term!

In Week 7 we were able to welcome our brand new Kindy families into the school having graduated from KindyLinQ.

It has been awesome to see our Prep ladies engage with and support our Kindy crew with their learning opportunities. The way in which the children have felt comfortable in the transition is testament to the success of the KindyLinQ program.

We have been blown away by the confidence, independence, and personalities already on display.

We would like to wish Mrs Lynne Chamberlain all the very best in her retirement.  We were able to acknowledge her extensive career and the positive influence she has made on many children across Queensland.

On behalf of the wider Rainbow Beach School community we would like to thank her for her care, commitment, and contribution to our children in supporting them to be the best they can be!

We have some exciting things planned in the near future including our School Leaders attending the Young Leaders Day in Brisbane, the Easter Bonnet Parade on the last Friday of Term 1, School Cross Country, and ANZAC Day early Term 2.  It will be an action-packed start to the term once again.

Wishing everyone a happy and Safe Easter Break and look forward to seeing you back next Term!

Steve Bennett
