Sam with one of many great cod caught on Baitrunner

Hi all, well another year has slipped by and boy it seemed like a quick one. It’s amazing how quickly those last ten weeks disappear and suddenly (BANG) Christmas rush and you realise how under prepared you are, well some of us anyway.

Fishing this month has been a little tougher with some strong northerly winds and strong current to add to it. We managed a few trips and in different directions which produced much the same results, plenty of large cod, both Gold Spot and Maori cod.

Pearl perch seem to be a little quieter this year, however still getting some great quality. A bit wider parrot, husser, wrasse, trout, Job fish and reds have been filling the boxes.

Cobia have been popping up pretty much everywhere and we have started seeing Mahi Mahi around, so hopefully it will be a good season and put smiles on some faces.

Well, as you would expect for this time of the year the jacks are firing up well along with the odd barra and thread fin.  Flathead are active and in good numbers for those that like to flick the plastic. I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years and catch ya all next month.
