Rainbow Beach DroughtRunners Report July 2022
Well again with really no drought to speak of we have continued this month to support communities hit hard by the recent floods. Some people refer to us as FloodRunners now but we haven’t changed our registered name.
At least now that we are in mid-winter the rains have disappeared hopefully for a couple of months. This will allow those we are helping west of Gympie to be able to continue their great fencing work on properties that were flooded.
The devastation of many properties has to be seen to be believed and the workers out there are volunteers.
Donations have tightened up this month but we have still managed to put $1000 into helping Blaze-Aid with food supplies from Goomeri and another $1200 into helping feed the homeless in Gympie.
Many thanks to those that have donated this month: Tin Can Bay Bakery, all the bottle and can collection points and those that donate to our home bin, Mary for some lovely new blankets, and Wayne Kerle for his wonderful collections in Tin Can Bay, and for the help we get at Big 4 in Rainbow Beach.
Unfortunately I can not take food donations at present and pack hampers as I am hampered myself and look like having to have a shoulder op. So it is a matter of Visa cards and cash only.
If anyone can help, our bank details are BSB 124047 A/C 22599186 (BOQ Gympie). There are no admin fees with us and donations go straight out to where it’s needed.
