QCWA Bouncing Back Program

With this unfolding Coronavirus pandemic in all our lives, how daily life has changed with social distancing to overcome the spread of the virus and “Stay at Home”.

With our branch being closed we are missing our Wednesday Hoy, craft mornings, coffee and chats with all our lovely groups of ladies and members – we miss you all.

We must ensure you are all looking after yourselves, our loved ones, fellow members and the community.

Queensland Country Women’s Association, (QCWA) has been here since 1922 to help Queenslanders through tough times, most recently our Public Rural Crisis Fund and Disaster Relief Fund which has been distributing to bushfire affected areas – we thank you for your donations and support. Now a bigger challenge.

We are all now faced with challenges never experienced. At QCWA we have many programs and activities to help us through these times.

Our popular knitting, cooking, sewing and craft are being well supported by our members from home. We recently had a huge donation of wool left on the doorstep of our Craft Group ladies, thank you so much.

Other activities the QCWA do and get involved in helping through these tough times: Country Kitchen – cook at home; get the family involved to pass on your cooking skills. Pen Pals, a tradition kept up all over the world by members, especially in poorer countries.

QCWA Bouncing Back Program – Bounce back to Health and Vitality.

We are all overwhelmed by the current situation. Our Bouncing Back programme is the QCWA way of helping communities get back on their feet, which we will launch when we can after restrictions are relaxed and lifted. It comes in the form of a booklet helping individuals and communities, and contains suggestions offering a series of practical achievements to overcome adversity.

We will also be holding a Biggest Morning Tea at the same time as launching “Bouncing Back” so watch this space for updates when and where.

Stay safe and happy! As all our members are saying, “We are all in this together”.

Also highly contagious is kindness, patience, love, enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Don’t wait to catch it from others, be the carrier, help yourself by helping others.

QCWA enquiries, President 0412 547 043, 18 Whiting Street Tin Can Bay.
