New executive for RB Commerce and Tourism
Rainbow Beach Commerce and Tourism Association members voted in a new executive committee at a recent Extraordinary General Meeting. The new committee is made up of Mark Beech, Rainbow Ocean Palms Resort (President), Heatley Gilmore, Rainbow Beach Cooloola Coast Community News (Treasurer) and Tony Stewart, Rainbow Beach Fishing Charters (Secretary). Other committee members are Nigel Worthington from Rainbow Sea Resort and Jay Kent from Cafe Jilarty.
President, Mark Beech said, “The focus of the new committee is to rebuild the association membership, to pay off the association’s debts and to work collaboratively with each other to promote the positive aspects of Rainbow Beach and ultimately attract more tourists to town.”
“Every business requires tourism to survive in Rainbow Beach and so it makes sense to work together to promote the town. The association does this through its website www.ourrainbowbeach.com.au and by representing businesses and leveraging off the efforts of local and regional tourism organisations. RBCT doesn’t have a huge amount of resources so we need to build partnerships with organisations and people that can help us achieve our goals.”
The next meeting of the Rainbow Beach Commerce and Tourism Association will be held at the Community Hall on Tuesday, July 1 at 5pm. For businesses that are not current members and would like to play a role in promoting Rainbow Beach, memberships can be obtained by emailing rbct.president@gmail.com.
