Rainbow Beach Aquatic Centre offers aqua aerobics, swim squad, stroke correction and most importantly – ‘learn to swim’ classes this January.

Says Bj Parton, the head coach, “A lot of people’s holidays are swimming destinations. When you or the kids can’t swim, it is an added stress for the family – and the kids.

“Everyone should know how to swim. It’s never too late to learn, I believe.”

You can join swim club training January 7-10, intense squad training January 11-12 or intense ‘learn to swim’ January 14-16. Please note that the Learn to Swim School is via bookings only.

Stroke correction is Monday at 6.30am and 10am Wednesday; Swim Squad Wednesday and Thursday 7am and 3pm, plus Aqua Aerobics Monday to Thursday at 9am.

“Everyone should know how to swim.”

When the holidays are over, Bj plans to resume the popular ‘Little Kickers’ – a session before school.

BJ said, “I had to start up a second morning, as we have a limit of 20, because of the bus. This year, as well as Wednesday, it will possibly start on Mondays, too.

“Little Kickers is a great start to our day: 7am for a 7.15am start. There’s a dryland warm up, followed by swim and safety talks, then we finish with breakfast provided and the courtesy bus will then take the kids to school.”

Breakfast looked good! There were generous serves of scrambled eggs, mashed avocados, toast, cereal, juice and fruit!

There may be after school sessions as well between 3 – 5pm. Let BJ know if this interests you.

Please note the pool is closed New Year’s Day, and holiday hours Monday to Thursday 6.30 -11am and 3-6pm, Friday 6.30 to 11am and Saturday 9am -1pm. Contact the Aquatic Centre on 5486 3191, press 3 for pool.
