It’s holiday time!
The winter school holidays herald the annual northern migration of the humpback whales. It’s a perfect time to take the kayaking tour and see these animals from the water. It also brings us the family friendly Rainbow Fishing Classic (July 4-12) with plenty to keep kids entertained. Make sure you check out kid’s clubs or entertainment at the Aquatic Centre and the Pub.
If they need a break from the beach and fishing, the Gympie Regional Council Holiday Fun program for 1-11 July 2014 is out now and has a huge range of fun activities for kids of all ages.
Kids can learn the basics of skateboarding or new skateboard tricks with beginner and intermediate coaching sessions at the local parks throughout the region (visiting Rainbow Beach skatepark July 1 at 10am) or they can make twisty sock snakes and pompoms at the holiday library activity 10.30pm at Tin Can Bay and 2.30pm at Rainbow on July 2.
Children may like to explore different ways to make artwork from or loads of other workshops at the Gallery.
For the movie enthusiast, there is the triple feature Movies till Midnight or for something a bit more physical kids can try ten pin bowling or roller skating in Gympie.
Collect the Holiday Fun program at the library or holidayfun.com.au.
