Holiday fun across the Cooloola Coast

Cartoon DaveThe Cooloola Coast Youth Activity Project Inc., (CCYAP) have a grand plan for the holidays.

CCYAP’s new Chair is George Parkyn who said one of the first priorities was to work on a June/July School Holiday Activity Program, “We want to put some fun into the holidays for the local youth.

“We want to make it free so that all families can participate in the program, it is so important that parents can afford to give their children time is a supervised situation. We will also work with the Gympie Regional Council with their fantastic school holiday program.”

And here is what they have come up with – make the most of it!

Monday 27 June – Outdoor Fun Day
Venue:      Cooloola Cove Veteran’s and Community Hall
Time:         10.00am to 1.00pm.
Enjoy a free outdoor fun day starting with a warm-up fitness session, join in volleyball, touch football, races, Frisbee throwing and tag. Sausage sizzle lunch provided.
Bookings are essential.

Wednesday 29 June – Outdoor Table Games and Pat A Pet
Venue:      Cooloola Cove Shopping Centre Car Park
Time:         10.00am to 1.00pm.
Have fun at our outdoor table games day under the marquee. Make friends with the Pat A Pet animals. BBQ kebab lunch provided.
Bookings are essential.

Thursday 30 June – Sports Day
Venue:      Tin Can Bay Tennis Courts and Oval
Time:         10.00am to 1.00pm.
Show off your skills at Tennis or Cricket or if you haven’t played before come along and let the experts show you how.
Bus leaving from Cooloola Cove Shopping Centre bus stop at 9.30am and returning at 1.00pm. Picnic lunch provided.

Thursday 30 June – Cartoon Dave
Venue:      Tin Can Bay Library
Time:         2.00pm to 3.00pm.
Cartoonist Dave Hacket has taught cartooning to over 150,000 children across Australia is now visiting Tin Can Bay.
Bookings are essential.

Monday 4 July – Music, Laughter and Cooking.
Venue:      Cooloola Cove Veteran’s and Community Hall
Time:         10.00am to 1.00pm.
A fun day starting with a laughter workshop followed by music and karaoke. Then for those budding cooks who want to enter the QCWA Cooking Competition, the opportunity to bake some amazing treats. BBQ burger lunch provided.

Wednesday 6 July – Let’s Go Fishing
Venue:      Norman Point
Time:         8.00am to 1.00pm.
Calling everyone who loves fishing or wants to try it for the first time! The Tin Can Bay Fishing Club are hosting the day and providing rods and bait.
Bus departs Cooloola Cove Shopping Centre bus stop at 7.30am and IGA at 7.45am returning at 12.30pm and 1.00pm. BBQ fish & salad lunch provided.

Thursday 7 July – Council Fun Day
Venue:      Billabong Park
Time:         10.00am to 1.00pm.
Fun for the whole family, featuring a jumping castle, bungee basketball, giant games and a tie dye workshop with all materials supplied. All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Old clothes or a coverall recommended. No bookings required.
Sausages and drinks will be available for purchase.

Saturday 9 July – Saturday Activity
Venue:      Cooloola Cove Veteran’s and Community Hall
Time:         3.00pm to 6.00pm.
Enjoy a fun afternoon outdoors, starting with a warm-up fitness session followed by volleyball, touch football, Frisbee throwing and tag. Pizza’s provided.
Bookings are essential.
